When To Wear It

Right away, before we delve into the look and design, Rain man is designed specifically for sports. It is not, style-wise very suitable for casual wear, but it will be your trusted jacket for that nature jog and outdoor adventures.

Being a soft shell, it has some common features that can be found in most soft shell jackets, such as being very lightweight and the main material is almost entirely Polyester, as will be explained in the paragraph intended solely for the material.

It comes with a high, hooded collar, which has drawstrings for adjustment. The hood is lined for added warmth. On the front part of the collar, there is also chin guard, to protect the chin and throat from getting chafed by the main zipper.

There are two side pockets, lined on the inside and one chest pocket, placed diagonally. These are all with water-resistant zippers for closure. The main zipper is also water-resistant and it is uncovered, but comes with a back placket to insulate the jacket and reinforce its water-resistance quality.

The hem is adjustable with drawstrings placed on the inside and it comes with thin Velcro-adjusted cuffs on the sleeves. Since we are on the sleeves, they are designed to fit perfectly to any upper body movement and come with reflectors on the lower front part. There are also reflectors placed on the back, to keep you safe, especially at night.

On the inside, the jacket comes with an extra warm layer, made of fleece, which means that not only is this jacket well-adapted, it is also suitable for the colder months, so you will not have to layer up in order to keep warm.

As for logos, since the brand is famous for placing very noticeable logos on their products, they have held back a bit for this jacket, with only two logos placed on the chest and one on the left sleeve.

Material

Time to get technical and there are quite a few things to look into for Rainman. Starting from the outer shell, it is a blend of 96% Polyester and 4% Spandex, which makes it elastic and better-fitting, as well as a lot more mobile.

Seeing as how this jacket is part of the Turbo Dry 5000 Series, it comes with the Turbo Dry 5000 technology, that gives it water-resistance, with a water column of 3000 mm and makes the jacket highly breathable (5000 g/m2/24h).

All of this means that, as far as weather conditions go, the Rain man soft shell fares quite well in both rain and cold days, all the while making sure you will not overheat. This outer shell is also fast-drying.

Moving on to the inner part, it is 100% Polyester, with the front a bit different from the back. This is due to the back being lined with a thin layer of fleece, that adds to the insulation, while also providing a lot more warmth than the average soft shell.

Color Selection

Because this is a sports jacket, it all comes down to preference in choosing a color, so we will get right into the options available for this design.

It comes in the colors: Black, Red, Yellow, Blue and Grey. All of them come with a contrasting inner lining, which matches the zippers on the pockets, making for an interesting combination.

User Reviews, Feedback & Opinions

Rainman comes with overall positive online reviews and to get it sorted right away, the two or so low ratings are from customers who have had an unexpected issue or a wrong size, which are to be taken into account with all jackets.

With that being said, Rain man does indeed perform beautifully as a sports jacket, however it is best suited for autumn and the earlier months of winter. For this, keep in mind size, as you might need to wear something a bit warmer underneath if you intend to challenge the lower temperatures and use it as a ski jacket.

Style-wise, what you see is what you get, a neat and stylish jacket.

And as for its weather-resistance, skiing aficionados are happy to report that it is highly water-resistant, while also breathable, overall providing a pleasant experience.
