When To Wear It

As we always do, let’s start with the type of weather this jacket is best suited for, and seeing how it is a winter jacket, it is designed for low temperatures and it is indeed considerably warm.

In regards to the elements, it is highly water-resistant, therefore it is suitable to wear in late autumn and throughout winter. This makes it a great choice for those who live in areas with unstable and quick-changing weather, as it will keep you dry in mild raining.

Despite being a casual style, it is quite breathable, too, this way you will not overheat or sweat excessively while wearing this jacket. In addition, its breathability makes it suitable to wear during light outdoor activities, too.

Onto its design, it comes with an attached hood, which adjusts on top and on the sides with drawstrings. It also comes with faux fur trim that is in medium thickness, suitable to provide some protection, especially during snowfall, but it is also a nice touch in terms of looks.

However, for those who prefer a hood without fur trim, no worries as it is detachable so you can choose whether to wear it or not.

The length is slightly below the hips, thus it provides a nice cover for the back. There are numerous pockets on this design, eight of which are on the outside. These are nicely-sized pockets, with enough room for storage. Some of them are with zippers and other with flap closures. On the sides there are also two hand pockets.

The central zipper is full length and protected by a storm placket that helps prevent water or wind from getting through. It comes with ribbed, elastic sleeve cuffs, which provide a better fit and also help insulate the jacket further by preventing the cold from the outside from getting in.

Another thing that bears mentioning is the lack of oversized and flashy logos, which used to be very common with past jackets of the brand. The good thing about this is that you can wear this design anywhere, including work, as it is quite minimalist and looks very elegant.

As a last detail, there is also a drawstring at the waist, which helps adjust the jacket for a better fit.

Material

Coquin is a 100% Polyester jacket, both inside and out. The shell is smooth and, as we said, weather-resistant, while the inside is part fleece, which helps to insulate.

Fleece is a great at trapping heat, which is why it is so often used in jackets, but another quality of it is the ability to allow moisture to pass through, which is referred to as breathability.

That way, it helps keep you warm, while at the same time it prevents overheating problems by allowing the jacket to “breathe” and allow moisture vapors to leave the inside of the jacket.

Color Selection

In some of our reviews of Geographical Norway jackets, we have noted that the brand does not provide too many color options when it comes to men’s jackets in particular. The options available are usually classic jacket colors.

Coquin, however, comes in 5+ color options, which include:

  • Royal blue,
  • Grey melange,
  • Brown Chocolate,
  • Black,
  • Green,
  • Khaki,
  • Marine blue.

User Reviews, Feedback & Opinions

Because this is part of a newer collection by the brand, there aren’t many online reviews available. However, those that we looked at are quite telling about what to expect with this jacket.

First things first, the most impressive thing about this jacket is its quality, especially when compared to its price. Being such an affordable design, it is a bit baffling as to how good it performs and how warm it is.

All of the online reviews had only good things to say about this jacket, its warmth and comfort being the two main points.

The number of pockets available is also quite useful since they provide enough room for storage and there won’t really be a need for carrying any bags, especially during daily wear.

Its colors are also like the pictures and the jacket does indeed withstand the elements as it claims.
