Materials and Manufacture

Polyester and Nylon are used to make linings and shells of their jackets, while the strongest feature of Canada Goose jackets and parkas is the quality of the down used to isolate them.

Knowing that natural down is a very good insulator, the Goose and Duck down used to produce jackets is of the best quality and provides great warmth.

The down is also certified and fully traceable. The Canada Goose Down Transparency Standard™ is therefore their commitment to support the ethical sourcing and responsible use of down in their products (source).

Price

Price is not the strongest point of Canada Goose, it starts at around $600-$800 and goes up from there.

Are Canada Goose’s parkas and jackets worth the price?

Many of those who wear Canada Goose say that their parkas and jackets are worth the price. If you actually live in very cold places, this choice, in our opinion may be the ideal one. This also because they are known to be long-lasting products.

But, on the other hand, if you live in a place where you actually don’t have specific needs (temperatures are not that low), we think that you can look for more affordable brands.

3. Which Brand is Better?

Let’s now see which brand, in our opinion, is the better option between the two.

Eddie Bauer provides warmth and safety for outdoor activities, thanks to its technology and insulation. On the other hand, Canada Goose is a guarantee of quality and warmth, but with higher prices.

So, if you are looking for a right compromise between good quality and lower prices, we think that Eddie Bauer will be the better choice for you. Of course, according to your own necessities.

But, if you live up North, where temperatures are very low and winters are harsh, a Canada Goose parka will be the better option. Besides, if you have a relatively high budget and love good quality and performing products, Canada Goose is the brand to go with.

For normal outdoor life, we think Eddie Bauer is a good option: practical and relatively affordable.

  1. My Eddy Bauer jacket is 31 years old and it is in great shape. I would like a very warm coat and I have noticed that Eddy Bauer doesn’t have the quality it once had. I remember buying everything Eddy Bauer. This parka was and still is the warmest coat I have ever had. It was good for -50 F. However, this time around I will go for Canada Goose long coat.

  2. I’ve Had my Eddie Bauer Coat for 32yrs and 2 others before that. It’s been the warmest coat I ever own. I have 3 vest and a short jacket to add to my collection all which are really warm. I have a Moncler and a MACKAGE for Fashion. Youngsters None of them will ever compare to the Grand Daddy of them all.
