Main ski products: Jackets, Pants.
This Italian fashion and lifestyle brand was founded in Monza, a city in northern Italy, in the year 1923. The company began by making gaiters and was pretty successful at that. In the 1950s and 1960s, Colmar changed their focus to do skiwear instead.
Due to the growing popularity of skiing and Colmar’s knowledge in producing top-quality ski clothing, the brand was able to generate international awareness of its products.
The Golden Eagle ski jacket is one such product. Colmar states that the jacket is based around the gracefulness and agility of the golden eagle, which you can clearly see in its unique design.
The premium appearance and feel of the jacket don’t give away the fact that it is made from 100% recycled material. For insulation, the jacket is padded with Clo® Univa Eco, an award-winning fabric blend that is also recycled.
The jacket is available in four colors: white, bright red, blue-black, and peacock. As for its price, the Golden Eagle ski jacket is sold for $550 at the brand’s website.
To match the jacket, you can purchase another popular product from Colmar, which is their Stretch Ski Pants with Belt.
The item costs $240 and comes with its own flexible belt for quick adjustments. The shell and padding of the pants are made of polyester while its secondary shell is made using polyurethane.
Main ski products: Jackets.
The Italian company Napapijri was founded in 1987, near the highest mountain in Europe, Mont Blanc.
The company started by producing clothing and bags, with the Bering Bag being one of their most iconic. Later on, they started including technical jackets for skiing in their collection.
A popular jacket sold by the brand today is the Skidoo Montebianco. This $900 jacket features laminated fabric intended to give its wearers the best ski performance possible.
It uses water-resistant fabric along with Thermo-Fibre™ for insulation. Its hood is easy to adjust so you don’t have to worry about fumbling around in case weather conditions change at any time.
The Skidoo Montebianco has a ski-pass pocket, elasticized trims, and underarm ventilation zippers. The latter is useful particularly when you need to vent off excess heat while hiking or skiing.
This is especially vital for comfort throughout the activity.
(Moncler website – ski jackets)
Main ski products: Jackets, Pants, Gloves, Helmets.
Another Italian brand for ski clothing (but not only) is Moncler. The brand was founded in 1952 in a tiny village near the Grenoble mountains, Monestier-de-Clermont.
During its early years, Moncler didn’t really have the distinct designs that it later became known for.
In 2003 the Italian businessman Remo Ruffini began investing in the company and the brand took on an exclusive and luxury style.
One of the jackets sold by the brand is the Moncler Grenoble Villair, which costs more than $1300. The jacket is made to take on various activities especially since it is made of lightweight polyester and GORE-TEX Paclite membrane.
GORE-TEX is a popular material as we have previously seen, used in mountain jackets because of its windproof and water-resistant features and for being breathable.
Some of the other characteristics of the Villair include having heat-seal taped seams, adjustable cuffs, a ski pass pocket with zipper closure, and a drawcord hem. Unlike its competition, the hood is attached.
If you are looking for ski trousers, Moncler offers one that comes with suspenders. This item costs a whopping $1130 but can be justified based on the materials that it uses, and also because here we are talking about a luxury brand.

4. CMP Campagnolo
(CMP Campagnolo website – Ski jackets)
Main ski products: Jackets, Pants.
The popular skiing and snowboarding apparel brand, CMP Campagnolo, had very humble beginnings. The brand started in 1954 when the family shop opened and started selling hats and sweaters.
Three years later, the family invested in automatic machines that allowed them to mass-produce their products. By 2010, the company began selling ski and outdoor clothing to the public, and the brand was called “CMP”.
One of their top products nowadays is the Mondrian-Capsule ski jacket. This jacket is made mostly of polyester but also uses nylon and some elastane.
Its interior is made up of an infrared print that should help retain heat when out on snowy slopes.
Meanwhile, the Clima-Protect thermal laminate inserted in between its fabrics provides wearers with the protection they need even in harsh weather.
(Dainese website – winter sport helmets)
Main ski products: Helmets, Jackets.
If you are looking for winter sport helmets, Dainese is the Italian brand for you. The brand sells ski helmets for both adults and kids at reasonable prices.
The Nucleo ski helmet is one of the most popular helmets offered by the brand. It has an aerodynamic design, and although lightweight, offers the best protection when skiing even in rough weather. This helmet costs around $169 and is available in four color variations.
For children, the D-Race ski helmet offers the best head protection for aspiring, young skiers. The product is available in three funky color options: chili pepper, russet orange, and white. These helmets cost around $89 each.
(Briko website – ski helmets)
Main ski products: Helmets, Goggles.
Founded in 1985 in Milan, Briko is another well-known Italian headgear provider for ski enthusiasts. The company offers a wide range of helmets that come in unique colors and designs depending on your preference.
The Vulcano FIS 6.8 is one of the products sold by the brand. It uses a patented safety system called Protetto that incorporates an extra ABS shell for additional shock absorption in the nape. The helmet was so innovative that it was given an ISPO Award for the ski helmets category.
This helmet is available for both adults and kids at the same price at about $200. The Vulcano FIS 6.8 is also available in seven colors.
(Oakley website – snow goggles)
Main ski products: Goggles.
For ski goggles, you can’t go wrong in choosing Oakley, which is part of the Italian Luxottica. One of their newest products is the Line Miner, which was developed together with the Olympic silver medallist snowboarder and six-time X Games medallist, Stale Sandbech.
The Line Miner snow goggles were made with visibility in mind. Its cylindrical design puts the product as close to the wearer’s face as possible, so they have ultimate side-to-side and downward periphery.
The product costs $150 and comes with its own micro bag for storage.
(Karpos website – homepage)
Main ski products: Pants, Jackets.
The Karpos brand started in 1946 when Olindo and Irma Cremonese established a spinning mill to create wool yarn in a small Italian town called Fonzaso, in the Province of Belluno. In 2007, their son established Karpos, which began selling outdoor mountain clothing.
One of the products sold by the brand is the K-Performance Hybrid women’s jacket, which costs $250. The concept of this jacket is to provide its users with an outfit that they can wear for any mountain activity during summer. The fabrics that are used to make this jacket include lightweight windproof nylon that has been DWR-treated.
You can expect to find two zippered chest pockets that have a slot within to store a mobile device, such as a smartphone. Its elastic bottom provides great freedom of movement for its wearers.
For men, the fully seam-sealed Jorasses Plus jacket is a durable and flexible outfit for harsh, cold mountain weather. Its unique construction provides its wearer with the best protection from both water and wind. To prevent overheating, the jacket possesses underarm zips that users can open up for ventilation.
Similar to other ski brands, the jacket also uses Gore-Tex material for maximum weather protection on all parts of the upper body. At $550 per jacket, the Jorasses Plus offers a premium product at this price range.
(Nordica website – ski boots)
